އަހަރެމެންގެ ވާހަކަ

ދުވަސްވަރަކީ ނުރައްކާތެރި ރޯގާއެއް ދުނިޔޭގެ އެންމެހާ ބައްރުތަކުގައި ހަލުވިކަމާއެކު ފެތުރެމުން އައި ދުވަސްވަރެކެވެ. ދިވެހި ރާއްޖެވެސް މިއޮއެވަރުން އިސްތިސްނާ ނުވިއެވެ. މާލެއިން ކޮވިޑް 19 ގެ ފުރަތަމަ ކޭސް ފެނުމާއެކު މުޅި މާލެދިޔަ ލޮކްޑައުންގައި، މަމެންގެ ކުޑަކުޑަ އާއިލާވެސް ތިބީ އާއިލާގެ އެހެނިހެން މެންބަރުންނާއި ރަށްޓެހިންނާ އެކަހެރިވެ ގޭބަންދުގައެވެ.

އޭއީ ލޮކްޑައުން އަށް ދިއުމުގެ ދެތިންހަފްތާކުރިއެވެ. މަދަރުސާގައި އޮތް ބެލެނިވެރިންގެ ބައްދަލުވުމެއްގައި މަމެންގެ ދަރިފުޅު ދިވެހި ބަހަށް ނުފަރިތަކަން މުދައްރިސް ފާހަގަކުރިއެވެ. ކޮންމެ ބެލެނިވެރިއަކަށްވެސް ތިމާގެ ދަރިފުޅު ކަމަކަށް ނާގާބިލް ވާހަކަ ދައްކާ އަޑު އެހުމީ ދަތި ކަމެއްކަން ކަށަވަރެވެ.
މޫނުމަތިން ފާޅުވެގެން ދިޔަ ނުތަނަވަސްކަންފެނިފައި މުދައްރިސް އަވަސްވެގަތީ ދިވެހި ބަހަށް ނުފަރިތަކަމީ ހަމައެކަނި އަހަރެމެންގެ ދަރިފުޅަށް ދިމާވެފައިވާކަމެއް ނޫންކަމުގެ ޔަގީންކަން އަރުވައިދިނުމަށެވެ. މިހާރަކަށް އައިސް ކުދިވެރިންނަށް ފަސޭހައިން އަތުޖެހޭ އަދި ޝައުގުވެރިކަން ހުންނަ ޝާއިރުކުރުންތައް ހުންނަނީ އެހެނިހެން ބަސްބަހުން ކަމުގައި ވުމުން، ކުލާހުގެ އެކި ކުދިންވެސް އެކި ދަރަޖައަށް ދިވެއްސައް ނުފަރިތަކަން ފާހަގަ ކުރިއެވެ.
ބައްދަލުވުން ނިންމާފައި މިކަން ރަނގަޅު ކުރަން ކުރެވެނޭ ކަންކަމާއި ގޮތްތަކާއިމެދު މަތިމަތިން ދެވެރިންމެ ހިޔާލު ބަދަލު ކޮށްލީމެވެ. ނިމުނީ އަހަރެމެންގެ ޒިންމާއިން ބަރީއްޔަވެ، ދަރިފުޅު ދިވެއްސައް ކޮށީ ދިވެހިބަހުން ކިޔާނެ އަދި ބަލާނެ ’ސަޅި‘ ޝާއިރުކުރުން ތަށް މަދުވީމަކަމަށް ނިންމާ، ދުވަހައިގެން ކުރިއަށްދިޔައީއެވެ.

ލޮކްޑައުން ވެގެންދިޔައީ އާއިލާޔާއެކު ވަގުތުހޭދަކޮށްލަން ލިބުނު ވަރަށްވެސް ބޭނުންހުރި، ކިޔެވުމުގެ އިތުރުން ދުނިޔެވީ ކަންކަމުގައި ދަރިފުޅާ އެކު ސައްލާ ކުރަން ފަހިވި ވަރަށް ރަނގަޅު ފުރުސަތަކަށެވެ.
ކޮންމެ އަކަސް ދަރިފުޅަށް ދިވެހި ބަހުން ކިޔާލަދޭނެ ފޮތްކޮޅެށް ހޯދަން މާލޭގެ މަގުތައް އަތްފުނާ އަޅަން ނިކުމެ ބެލި އިރު ގިނަ ފޮތް ފިހާރަތައް ބަންދެވެ.
ދެން އަމިއްލައަށް ވާހަކައެއްލިޔެ ދަރިފުޅަށް ކިޔާދިނީމެވެ. މި ވާހަކައިގެ ސަބަބުން ދަރިފުޅު ގެ ޝައުގުވެރިކަން އިތުރުވިއެވެ. އެހިސާބުން ދަރިފުޅާއެކު ދެވަނަ ވާހަކައެއް ލިޔަން ފެށިީމެވެ. އިސާހިތަކުން އެއްފޮތް ދެފޮތަށް ބަދަލުވެ ދެފޮތް ދިހަ ފޮތަށް ބަދަލުވިއެވެ.
މިހިސާބަށް އައި އިރު މަމެންގެ ’ބިޒީ‘ ވިސްނުން ވެށި ބަލިވެ، ދަރިފުޅު އެންމެ އިތުބާރާއެކު ވަށައިގެންވާ މާހައުލަށް ޔަގީންކަން ހޯދާނީ މަމެން ބެލެނިވެރިން ގާތުންކަން ޔަގީން ކުރެވުނެވެ. އަދިވެސް މިދަނީ މި ދަތުރުގައި އިތުރަށް ކަންކަން ދަސްކުރަމުންނެވެ. އަދި ’ގަޅި‘ ޖެހޭލެއް މަދެއް ނޫނެވެ. ކިތަންމެ ފަސޭހައިން އާލާތްތަށް އަތުޖެހޭހިސާބުގައި ހުރިކަމުގައިވިއަސް ދަރިފުޅާ އެކު ވަގުތު ހޭދަ ނުކުރެވޭނަމަ، ”ފޮތެއް އޮތަކަސް އަދި އެދުރެއް ނުވާނޭ“ ބުނާފަދައެވެ.
މިހެން އުޅުމުގައި ލިޔެވުނު ވާހަކަތައް ދުނިޔެއަށް ހިއްސާކުރުމުގެ ނިޔަތުގައި ދިވެހި ވާހަކަފޮތުގެ އެޕެއް ހެދުމުގެ ދަތުރު މާތް ﷲ ގެ ވާގިފުޅާއެކު ފެށީމެވެ. އެންމެ އިސްކަމެއް ދިނީ އެ މާހައުލަކީ ރައްކާތެރި ކުޑަކުދިންނަށް ހާއްސަ ވެއްޓެއްކަން ގާއިމުކުރުމެއެވެ.
މަމެންގެ އުންމީދަކީ ކޮންމެ އާއިލާއެއްވެސް ކޮންމެ ދުވަހަކުވެސް ކިތަންމެ ކުޑަނަމަވެސް ހިތްގައިމު ވަގުތުކޮޅެށް އެކުގައި ހޭދަކޮށްލުމެވެ.
އަހަރެމެންގެ މި ދަތުރުގައި ބައިވެރިވެލީތީ، ތިޔަ އެންމެހާ އަހުން އަދި އުޙްތުންނަށް ބޯކޮށް ޝުކުރު އަދާކުރަމެވެ.

Our Story
Chapter 1 – The origin
It was a time when the world had been struck by a dangerous pandemic and Maldives had turned out no exception from the rest. As soon as the first local case of Covid-19 was found in K. Male’, a total lockdown ensued and like any other, our small family of three were exiled in our own home, away from close friends and family.
(Before we continue let’s back-track a bit more)
Few weeks prior to lock-down, we were attending a parent-teacher meeting at our local pre-school. The Dhivehi teacher had just told us that our daughter was lagging behind in her Dhivehi language lessons. It is disheartening to listen to any negativity directed towards your child, whether big or small.
The teacher noticed the discolouration on our faces and hastened to console us stating that this was not a problem faced by just our daughter. These days it was very common since all easily accessible entertainment modules available for young children are in other languages, hence most of the class children had difficulty keeping up with Dhivehi language lessons at some level or the other.
After the meeting, both of us lightly discussed things we could do to improve this lack, but ultimately ended up shrugging it off and going about our daily lives, mostly blaming the societal lack of easily accessible and engaging material for learning Dhivehi through early childhood.

The lockdown became key and much needed time for us to wind down as a family, with ample time to sit with our daughter and talk about school as well as other worldly and unworldly matters. During this time we attempted to find story books in Dhivehi to read together but unfortunately most shops were closed due to strict lockdown measures.
This was when we started writing small stories on our own. Each story happened to spark her interest and aided her in getting to learn more Dhivehi words and try to speak the language without having us force it.
Our ‘busy’ mind frames had shifted; we had no excuse but to accept the simple fact that children take ownership of the world around them best through us, their parents, and that even if there were easily accessible material, it takes our intention and time, be it small, to make a big difference in their lives.
With God’s will, we started working on an app with the intention to share these stories. Priority has always been given to make the app a safe space for children to act freely and independently.
Our wish is that all families are able to take a short time off together to read and discuss any given topic, with the aid of this app.
